Season 48 of the beloved sketch comedy show kicked off on Saturday night, complete with a tribute to Kidman’s commercial. Chloe Fineman plays Kidman in the fake ad, which essentially begins a shot-for-shot remake of the real thing. Everything seems normal, with Fineman delivering Kidman’s now-iconic lines like “somehow, heartbreak feels good in a place like this.” But it’s quickly revealed that things are not as they seem. Slowly, all of the extras in the movie theater begin to stand up and salute the screen before repeatedly chanting “heartbreak feels good in a place like this” in a cult-like fashion....

Showtime’s anthology drama series “The First Lady” captures the legacy of three former FLOTUSes: Eleanor Roosevelt (Gillian Anderson), Betty Ford (Michelle Pfeiffer), and Michelle Obama (Viola Davis). “The First Lady has to be a special kind of woman,” Pfeiffer as Ford explains in the trailer, while Davis’ Obama pushes back against being branded as the “Black Martha Stewart.” Meanwhile, Anderson’s Roosevelt tells President Franklin D. Roosevelt (Kiefer Sutherland) that she has her own life, which seems to include a love affair with Lorena “Hick” Hickok, played by Lily Rabe....

As he talks, his animation increases. Hawke not only loves Newman and Woodward, but he also loves acting, and the time period these two lived in where acting was transforming. It’s this infectious adoration that certainly kept this reviewer hooked, in spite of only seeing one episode of the documentary which will air on CNN+ and HBO Max later this year. But in the span of 60 minutes Hawke not only lays the groundwork for how Woodward and Newman fell in love, but how they came to represent the last gasp of a dying era....

Other reported “The Mandalorian” Season 2 guest stars include comedian Bill Burr (“F Is For Family”), who will reprise his role as snarky mercenary Mayfeld, and sci-fi veteran Michael Biehn, who will play a bounty hunter with a connection to the Mandalorian. For starters, it’s not Whedon’s series — not anymore. Then viewers got a peek at Tom Sturridge as Morpheus and Jenna Coleman as Johanna Constantine in a scene where the latter performs a wedding that quickly turns into an exorcism. Finally, fans got a look at an iconic scene from the comics, where Death (Kirby Howell-Baptiste) sits next to Morpheus and calls him “literally the stupidest, most self-centered, appallingest excuse for an anthropomorphic personification on this or any other planet....
At first, it might seem strange that experimental Polish director Agnieszka Smoczyńska (“The Lure”, “Fugue”) chose for her third film a social justice drama about a pair of Black British twins and amateur novelists locked up for petty crimes. But the filmmaker’s esoteric style — “The Lure” was a bloody, lesbian take on “The Little Mermaid” — makes more sense once we get to meet June Gibbons (Letitia Wright) and her sister Jennifer (Tamara Lawrence)....
